The feelings upon seeing this natural spectacle are hard to describe. The best is to see this rock arch yourself: gigantic dimensions, echo, and roaring waterfalls make the route an unforgettable experience.

Difficulty level: T (tourist trail)
From the square of Stenico, follow the red and white alpine club signs SAT 346. The path is narrow, steep, and goes straight uphill. After a while, it merges into an old mule track. On the right side, you see fields and on the left, the castle of Stenico. Now the path runs through the forest, and after about ten meters, you reach “La Croce,” a place with a few houses and a chapel with a new stone cross. Then you come to an asphalt road and see a wooden sign “strada forestale Plaz” – the forest road of Plaz. Continuing you reach the river “Rio dei Molini”, which you cross on the bridge. Then you turn right and follow path SAT 346A to “L’Arca di Fraporte.”
Now it goes uphill and the path leads near a large rock (Coel delle contesse). It continues up to about 1000 meters, where the landscape at the foot of the mountain slopes becomes increasingly barren and the rocks apparently block the path. And now it doesn't take long before you see the gigantic rock formation: the rock arch “L’arca di Fraporte” with its length of 42 meters, height of 49 meters, and about 66 meters in width.
The return route is the same as the outward route.

Mountain routes require special clothing and equipment. Even on rather short and easy hikes, you should always have everything necessary with you to avoid unpleasant surprises and be prepared for emergencies, for example sudden thunderstorms or an abrupt drop in fitness.
What you should definitely have with you on trekking routes in the mountains?
Your backpack should contain (for day trips, a backpack with 25-30 liters of storage is usually recommended):
Footwear suitable for the path and the season. Many paths are uneven and bumpy. Shoes should therefore cover the ankle to provide good support and protect against strains and sprains. Especially grassy slopes, rock slabs, or steep paths can quickly become dangerous slippery surfaces when wet without suitable footwear.
And of course, not to forget... a camera to immortalize your route in pictures. This way you can also take home the unique panorama you can enjoy in every corner of Garda Trentino as a souvenir. If you want to share your memories with us: hashtag #GardaTrentino.
